A lot of this monthly report was filled with things I wanted to hear. I don’t care when they talk about new concept art for a ship sale or stuff that won’t matter for another three years. This monthly report was all about stuff that actually matters like interface upgrades, control upgrades, IFCS updates, targeting and gimbal+mouse updates, and finally some news on the persistent universe.
My hype has sufficiently deflated to the point of jaded cynicism, but I’m much more positive about Star Citizen now than I was a month ago. They’re sorting out their pipeline and production on many fronts is picking up pace.
In terms of game patches, this most recent one was a pleasant surprise. The IFCS was adjusted this patch for the 300i, but it didn’t affect just the 300i.
The Hornet flies a lot better too, especially once I fixed my dead zone and curves again. It looks like they gave us at least part of the IFCS improvements that they were talking about for next patch. When you let go of the stick, the ships now stop themselves much faster than before. Everything as a whole is way more sharp responsive than it used to be.
Comstab, although I wouldn’t use it for combat, feels really smooth and is approaching classic flight sim feelings of flight like Freespace or X-Wing. If this a sign of things to come, color me impressed.
